On the evening of Friday 2nd August 2019 Birmingham University Athletics & Cross Country Club will be hosting the second running of our exciting and unprecedented athletics event…

 "The University of Birmingham Relays”

The meeting itself will run between 6pm-9pm and will involve both Track and Field events with the centre piece and outstanding feature of the meet once again taking the form of an array of relays rarely raced in the UK.

The meet will see the inclusion of Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s 4x800m races, as well as Long Jump and 150m for juniors. There will also be the unique spectacle of a Mixed Shuttle Hurdle Relay, which sees teams of four, two men and two women, competing over hurdles running in both directions. 

This format allows for the possibility of some serious Junior, Senior and Master's record attempts - do you have a team that could break a record?

In addition to the relays there will be a selection of open events on both track and field and elite BMC Gold Standard 3000m Steeplechase's being paced at the World Champonships qualifying mark.

Open events available are 100m, 3000m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, and Javelin. 

*There will also be Junior (u11, u13, u15, u17) events over 150m & Long Jump on offer*

We will also be hosting the BMC's Junior Mile races for under-15s and under 17s.

There will be music, commentary, street food, refreshments, quality competition and in-field cheer zones to create a special atmosphere around the track. It promises to be a truly great event and a festival of athletics that we are extremely excited about.

Entries close on Tuesday 30th July at midnight. Unfortunately we will not be able to allow late entries.
